In 2004, I was introduced to the "Z-Liner" Zirconia Ceramic Mud Pump Liner provided by C&C Equipment Specialists, Inc. The objective to using such a unique material was to extend the in service life of our mud pump liners and decrease our operational cost of pump parts. We started the installation with the Pride Rig 1502, and since have added these liners to a major portion of our fleet. I am very pleased with the performance and cost savings of this product along with the technical information provided by C&C Equipment Specialists, Inc.
In addition by increasing the liner service life it also has reduced the safety exposure to crew members since they do not have to replace liners as often, minimizing the hazards involved with replacing liners (hand traps and back injuries, etc.) plus it also reduces flat time and/or rig pump related downtime which increases rig efficiency and allows for more un-interrupted circulating and drilling time.

I work for a contractor in the Arkoma Basin running approximately 12 rigs. We’ve been using C&C for the past 3 years. However, for the past year we’ve been using them exclusively. Corey has been trying to get us to do this for the past few years. As a superintendent I was hesitant to tie in with just one company. We went ahead and did so and if I knew that it would have worked out as smooth as it has, I would have tied in with them years ago. Eighty percent of the pumps we run are duplex and the remainder are triplex. C&C has been able to help us out on saving money on our pump part expense by providing a quality product. Patterson-UTI has used Zirconia ceramic liners from C&C Equipment for the past three years. We save over two hundred thousand dollars a year using these ceramic liners. The liners will run on the average two years. Some of our liners have been in service for three years and are still in fair condition. The pump pistons will run three times longer than with steel liners.

We installed a set of C&C's 5-1/2" Zirconia ceramic liners in our Brewster 1300T in September 2000. They now have approximately 6,500 hours of use and are still performing great. We are not using self-aligning rods and piston life is still about 3 to 1 versus chrome liners. I am extremely pleased with the performance of these liners and highly recommend Zirconia ceramic liners from C&C Equipment. The dependability and service I have received from C&C is second to none.

C&C Equipment has been a huge asset to our daily operations. We have used them since they started out in business. They have a reputation that exceeds the industry standard. All of the products they manufacture are top quality. They have supplied us with caps, rings, pistons, piston rods and other related expendable products. C&C's Zirconia ceramic liner is one example of their quality products that stands out among the rest. At one time we were running alumina ceramic liners. I own a two rig drilling operation. I've been in business for two years now. Since the first day my company has used C&C's Zirconia ceramic liners. To this day, I have yet to go through one liner. I'm running a PZ-9 on one rig and a PZ-8 on the other. We are averaging over 1,000 hours a piston, if not more. I am the rig manager on Patterson-UTI Rig #410. I have been using C&C for the past four years. We have C&C's Zirconia ceramic liners in our 9P100 pump. At this time we have 14,880 hours on these liners and are averaging 2,000 to 2,500 hours a piston. At one time we had one of C&C's Red Devil urethane pistons run for more than 5,000 hours. In our 8P80 pump we are running alumina ceramic liners for a trial. We are only averaging 700 to 1,000 hours a piston and are already having to send them in to be honed. We only have around 3,500 hours on the alumina ceramic and are getting half the life on the pistons. The Zirconia ceramic liners are a much better product. I highly recommend C&C Equipment Specialists quality mud pump parts.
